Parking garages are prime sites for redevelopment at high density in Downtown L.A. and on the USC campus. The design primarily investigates programs contributing toward physical life improvements, improved social interaction and academic contribute to lifestyle enhancements within the USC community. USC TRAX delivers layered series of domestic and leisure programs using the running track as an organizational armature. The design transforms the existing parking structure by slicing, dicing, and coring voids into the building, creating a continuous volume dedicated to the practice of running. There are four tiers of grade on the track, which are based on terrains on the USC campus and area ADA friendly.
